Labels are usually designed around an intended market or workload, but the buyer's equipment may have a different mix of writes, concurrency, vibration, thermal, service, and protection requirements. A NAS role in a small enclosure is not automatically the same as a multi-bay server array. A surveillance workload is not a substitute description for a database, archive, or backup service. The evaluation must start with the target system.

Original documentation is central because product families can vary by capacity, interface, revision, and operating limit. A buyer should not promote a product from one category into another without documenting why the actual host and workload accept it. This protects the customer from a category label becoming a warranty, compatibility, or performance promise.
