Key Features

High Density Module
SK hynix develops high-density (128/256GB) RDIMM and LRDIMM modules specialized to process Big Data. Our 256GB RDIMM and LRDIMM based on the 1ynm 16Gb DDR4 support stable data transfers with speeds of 3,200Mbps at 10W, the industry's lowest power budget.
Targeting In-memory Computing
Beyond RDIMM/LRDIMM modules with basic capacities for general applications, SK hynix’s High Density Modules deliver faster processing and larger memory needed for in-memory database, cache, and real-time big data analysis.
3DS 4Hi Technology
Instead of conventional wire bonding, 3DS TSV (Through Silicon Via) technology is used to vertically interconnect the DRAM die, reducing module package height while boosting data transfer speeds.
Industry's Lowest Power Consumption
Our 256GB DDR4 RDIMM consumes around 8.5W of power and LRDIMM around 10.5W, both the most competitive levels in the High Density Module market.

Procurement FAQ
What type of DDR4 memory modules do you offer?
We offer DDR4 RDIMM modules from Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities, at DDR4-2933 and DDR4-3200 speeds, with 288-pin form factor, ECC support, and 1.2V operating voltage.
What is an RDIMM and why does my server require it?
RDIMM stands for Registered DIMM. It includes a register chip that reduces electrical load on the memory bus, allowing servers to support more DIMM slots and higher total memory capacity than unbuffered (UDIMM) configurations. Enterprise servers from Dell, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro almost universally require RDIMMs.
What is ECC memory and is it required for servers?
ECC (Error-Correcting Code) memory automatically detects and corrects single-bit memory errors in real time, preventing data corruption and system crashes. All our DDR4 modules include ECC. For servers running databases, virtualisation, or any mission-critical workload, ECC is not optional — it is a requirement.
What is the difference between DDR4-2933 and DDR4-3200?
DDR4-3200 offers approximately 9% higher memory bandwidth than DDR4-2933. However, your server's memory controller determines the maximum supported speed — DDR4-3200 in a system capped at DDR4-2933 will simply downclock. Please check your server's QVL or memory specification sheet before selecting a speed grade.
Can I mix Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron modules in the same server?
While technically possible, we recommend using identical brand, capacity, and speed modules within the same memory channel for optimal stability. Mixing brands may affect certified configurations for platforms like HPE ProLiant, which have strict QVL requirements.
What capacities are available and what is the maximum per server?
We offer 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB per DIMM. Total server memory depends on slot count — a 2-socket server with 24 slots and 64GB modules supports up to 1.5TB of RAM. Confirm your server's slot count and per-channel capacity limits before ordering.
Are these modules compatible with Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC platforms?
Yes. All modules comply with JEDEC standards and are compatible with Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake, Sapphire Rapids) and AMD EPYC (Milan, Genoa) platforms. Specific speed support depends on processor generation and channel configuration.
What compliance standards do these modules meet?
All modules are JEDEC-compliant and RoHS-certified, meeting international environmental and performance standards for enterprise memory.
What is the operating temperature range?
All DDR4 modules are rated for 0°C to 85°C operating temperature, suitable for standard air-cooled server environments.
What is the typical use case for these DDR4 RDIMMs?
Virtualisation hosts (VMware, Hyper-V), database servers (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), in-memory computing, ERP systems, and any server workload where memory capacity and stability are critical. A cost-effective choice for existing DDR4-generation server fleets.
